The jury is no longer out… Jumpsuits are the outfit du jour this season! The humble dress has been replaced in the fashionista’s hearts and wardrobes by the versatile jumpsuit.
Jumpsuits (the most acceptable form of onesie in public, natch) can be worn so many different ways, styled up or down for any occasion which is why we are seriously lurvin’ it right now.
Still not sure it can match up to the faithful party dress? Well, let us educate you! We’ve taken three different jumpsuits and shown you how to style each of them to hit the right style notes this season.
Kate Moss for Playboy: It’s the cover we’ve all been dying to see and now, thanks to Photographer Mert Alas, we have been given a sneak peak at Kate Moss’ 60th anniversary cover for Playboy. Our verdict?! HOT to trot! Kate posed for the magazine last month wearing a black leotard, complete with a pair of bunny ears and white cuffs (you know as you do!) The Instagram pics posted today show the gorgeous Miss Moss lying on a bed with a copy of the magazine, while the other one is an arty shot of scattered covers. She certainly gets around does that Mossy, as tonight she’ll be honoured at the British Fashion Awards for her contribution to the fashion industry with a special recognition award. Busy lady.
The X Factor confirms finale line-up: Wowsa! Katy Perry, One Direction and Elton John have all been confirmed to perform on the final of X Factor later this month at Wembley Arena. In other X Factor goss, style queen Tamera Foster was finally given the boot after she lost in the sing off against Luke Friend. To be fair it was only a matter of time, after forgetting your words three times in as many weeks, the writing has got to be on the wall. We’ll miss Tamera and her fabulous outfits though. *sad face*
We heart Party Dresses Under £50: It’s December, which means it’s officially time to get this party started with our list of fab dresses under £50. Glitz, glamour, mini, maxi, printed, plain… we literally have them all in this list for you to drool over. Each under £50… why on earth are you still reading this and not checking them out?!
Fashion Ed’s Pick of the Day: Statement necklaces are hot to trot right now and this gorgeous crystal necklace is the perfect piece to liven up a dull office outfit and then complete your party look this season.
Kelly Brook parties in style: The gorgeous Kelly Brook celebrated her 34th Birthday in style this weekend wearing the sparkly jumpsuit from her recent party collection for New Look. Kelly posted a series of pics on her Instagram page over the weekend in the back of a cab and needless to say she looked stunning. Shop the exact same jumpsuit here!
The X Factor’s Hannah Barrett Sent Home:Nicole Scherzinger was not a happy bunny on last night’s results show was she?! ‘Furious’ with the British public for putting Hannah in the bottom two for the third week running, Hannah faced a sing off with Rough Copy and was promptly sent packing. The question is… do we actually care?! The best part of the show has to be One Direction lighting up the stage (it’s OK to fancy them all isn’t it?!) and hear the hot goss that Niall Horan has a crush on Tamera Foster! Stay tuned for how that little romance plays out…
We Heart Cropped Knits: Think cropped knits were a passing phase? Well think again as they are the thing to be seen in this season. Just because temperatures are hitting sub-zero (ok slight over reaction, but brr! It’s getting cold out there!) is no excuse, all you have to do is cleverly layer up. Think cropped knit over a long top or shirt and voila instant trend revival. You’re most welcome.
La Moda launch a clutch for £1: Ok hold everything. A clutch for £1, surely this is some kind of joke?! No? Ok we’re sold! Accessory label La Moda are launching a gorgeous ponyskin (hottest texture of the season no less) leopard print clutch bag in an array of colours for just £1. Available from tomorrow, we’d start hitting the refresh button nice and early on Lamodauk.com if we were you!
Fashion Ed’s pick of the day: Today I’ve come over all Christmassy with these ADORABLE reindeer gloves from ASOS. A steal at only £10, these will see you through the festive period in style and keep your mitts warm. Who said functional couldn’t be fashionable?!
Isabel Marant for H&M: We have literally waited all our fashion lives for this moment. Isabel Marant for H&M launches in the UK this week, yes you heard us, THIS WEEK! In possibly the most highly anticipated high street/designer collaboration ever, the fashion pack have been counting down the days since it was announced earlier this year. Shopcade will be decamping from our HQ home in Notting Hill and queuing at dawn to cover the fashion event of the year, so stay tuned for our live updates straight from the heart of the action!
Adele turns down L’Oreal deal: So apparently the lovely Adele was offered a deal with L’Oreal which would have seen her replace the equally lovely Cheryl Cole but- and here’s the kicker- she turned it down! The move has left the beauty giant reportedly ‘gobsmacked’ at her turning down such a huge amount (we’re talking £12m here!) according to People magazine, who quoted the source. We’re pretty gutted it didn’t work out, Adele is a stunner!
Tamera Foster looks hot in sequinned jumpsuit: Told you Tamera was the one to watch in the fashion stakes! Gal looked gorgeous in a sequinned French Connection jumpsuit for Saturday’s live show. Available from ASOS for £180 it’s an investment piece make no mistake, but come on, when you can’t treat yourself at crimbo, when can you , eh?!
All Worship… ‘The Bear and the Hare’: They’ve only gone and done it again those clever folks at John Lewis. Having run out of cute kids and snowmen, they’ve turned to animation for this year’s Christmas offering and come up with the soon-to-be-classic bear and hare tale. You know, the one where they bear and hare are best buds in the forest and because the bear hibernates each year he misses Christmas (we know, heart breaking right?!). So clever hare buys him an alarm clock (John Lewis of course) so he can wake up and enjoy the festive season. (Hurray!) All this action set to the backing vocals of Lily Allen and her comeback cover of Keane’s Somewhere Only We Know. You may sense sarcasm, but we totes weeped… honest.
