It’s time for another make up masterclass with our resident beauty curator, the lovely Polina Berdos. This week she shows us how to perfect purple eye makeup for Spring. Over to you Polina…

“Purple is intriguing. Purple is magical. Purple is distinctive. I adore purple and deep plummy colors, I find them so elegant, even royal. It’s a great colour for eye shadow because it complements most skin tones and eye colors. And to top it all off, ‘Radiant Orchid’ is the colour of the year!

There are two different shades of purple. Violet is a pretty pastel shade with more blue in it. Radiant Orchid is a bright, bold blend of fuchsia, purple, and pink. Both are very pretty and versatile. The combination of these shades is such a gorgeous look for spring… So let’s get straight into the makeup tutorial.

Alright, so I created this purple look using my Urban Decay “Smoked” Palette and a violet mineral eyeshadow “Frozen Angel” from Neve Cosmetics.

I mixed a deep purple eyeshadow with violet and I absolutely love the way it turned out. Don’t forget to line your eyes. Of course, this step is optional but it will make your makeup more dramatic.

I added a few coats of mascara to my lashes and applied my false accent lashes from Ardell to create a cat eye shape. Don’t be afraid to try this awesome look because it’s not as complicated as it looks. With some practice and experiments, it gets neater and tidier.

As always, you can find the products that I used and some similar products in my Shopcade list“. Polina x

“There is no better way to close an exciting Fashion Week than watching the shows of Britain’s most exciting new designers”, says Amber Atherton.

The day started with the mega exciting launch of Anya Hindmarch’s voyage of self-discovery. It was a super smart move to combine astrology – a personal much loved female point of guidance – with e-commerce. A digital start to the day lead to deep discussions on the relevance of concepts and fun in online experiences.

So much later and we were dashing off late to possibly my fave show of LFW, Fashion East. The packed venue was full of familiar faces, as we said hello to birthday girl Pixie Lott and caught up with Chelsea Leyland. The show began and the camera flashes on Harry Styles calmed down to give way to the AMAZING collection by Ryan Lo which was a strawberry shortcake dream.

A little bit later, Claire Barrow’s Fashion Monsters was an eerie barefooted show of hand-painted glory – but most of all I LOVED Happy Ashley Land aka Ashley Williams! Her ‘dream boat’ collection was full of fun, mixing boating chic with the cowboy edge of Miami Vice! Despite the rain that poured down, London Fashion Week had reached to an end in the best possible way. Under the Fashion East initiative, three of Britain’s most exciting new designers had just presented their amazing collections – all under one umbrella!

Forget diamonds. A girl’s best friend during London Fashion Week is none other than shoes that can support her in all her activities: from catwalking to dancing at the after-show parties!

Traffic – what can you do about that little old thing that causes you to miss fashion shows? Either way, good old livestreaming made sure I still caught the KTZ show. I love the element of music and sheer attitude that always runs through this label’s collections. After a quick coffee I headed into the courtyard to check out the Rock Vault that featured some amazing jewellery designers and the new pop up shop which has super cute bits and bobs.

Home to change my Nicholas Kirkwoods for some mega Terry de Haviland heels for my best friend, model, and poet Greta Bellamacina’s birthday dinner. After a wonderful dinner party, we headed out to the Serpentine for the event of Diesel that had invited mega babe Aluna (and George) for a live set. Dancing till dawn, the much needed shoe change to Nike high-tops meant that day 4 of London Fashion Week had the most shoe changes in a single day!

From exciting shows and magazine parties to drinks at members-only clubs, Amber’s second day at London Fashion Week was definitely full of energy and good vibes!

LFW Special

After a late night at the St Martins Lane, I decided to attend the shows from my bedroom this morning livestreamed straight to me. I enjoyed them with a cup of rejuvenating green tea, while wearing my smooth silk pyjamas from luxury British nightwear designer Olivia von Halle.

After swooning over Antipodium and Holly Fulton, I made it down to Markus Lupfer’s presentation which was a total dream. Markus is one of my favourite designers, and his iconic lips jumper is a wardrobe staple of mine in far too many colour ways!

I then headed to Ashish, where the collection had a cool mix of sequins and grungy sportswear – and it also featured the most amazing sequinned carrier bags! There, it was fun to see Lilah Parsons and Paloma Faith, and I also had a giggle when the models at the end of the show appeared like a bride and groom and kissed!

I stopped into the showrooms to see my fave swimwear label Auria and bumped into Flash Trash girl model India Rose James, before running off for a quick drink at the Soho House with Purple Magazine. Then I quickly went home to change into a Peter Jensen dress for the Tessa Edwards show and Flaunt magazine party…it could be another late one!
