Well, that’s it! New York Fashion Week is over for another season and we’re officially in mourning, because the SS15 collections were just out of this world.

But hey, fashion month ain’t over- you’ve still got London then Milan waiting, so don’t fret about feeling cut short of your Spring ’15 outfit planning. Besides, in case you didn’t know, Fall is just around the corner and we’re super excited to slip into those booties, and keep ourselves warm and comfy with sweaters! Aren’t you?

But let’s go back to #NYFW. From #StreetStyle and trend spotting, to celeb and FROW sightings, and of course, obsessing over your favorite designer’s collection, there’s always something interesting every season.

So we’ve got a list of things we’re obsessed with and then some other things that went straight in our Burn Book 😉

Here’s the 10 things we’ve learned from NYFW SS15…

1. Kendall Jenner er… “Kendall” was the “IT” model for NYFW

Kendall is by far the most buzzed model for New York Fashion Week. Starting off with her first appearance at the Diane von Furstenburg show alongside Naomi Campbell and Candice Swanepoel, she has dominated the runway this season.

We spotted her next rocking a two-piece bikini at the Tommy Hilfiger, then she hit the runway for the Donna Karan presentation. Lastly, she made her second runway appearance for Marc Jacobs, which was a great way to end NYFW. She’s definitely doing the rounds in NYFW with appearances left, right and centre and we know this is just the beginning for her. You go, Kendall!

2. Kudos to Fashion-Forward Thinking Designers

Every season, we’re always blown away by certain designers who think outside the box. Prabal Gurung & Creatures of the Wind expanded their offerings with a footwear collection, which debuted along with their Spring presentation. A great move for both designers, because a girl can never have too many shoes, right?

Then, Rebecca Minkoff had her audience wearing 3D glasses to see the final looks in her show, complete with models working her new wearable technology jewelry collection. Amazing!

3. Flowers and Pastels clearly spells out S-P-R-I-N-G

Need we say more? These colors and patterns are trends that always have a direct relationship with Spring, but it’s the way how designers work around it each season which keep it fresh. BCBG MAX AZRIA, Kate Spade, Tory Burch, Michael Kors and Jeremy Scott added some spice and edge by focusing on specific floral patterns and pastel hues this Spring. Honestly, we feel like Spring is an endless garden party with their pieces, and we actually don’t mind at all.  (more…)

We’ve had a busy few days hopping from show to show for LC:M (yes, that was us partying it up with David Gandy and indeed, we were hanging out at the Moschino & I-D party on Monday) but there’s nothing like actually seeing a show and checking out what is going to be big next season!

Fresh from being backstage at Baartmans and Siegel earlier in the day, we headed over to The Old Sorting Office to queue with the rest of the fash pack for the highly anticipated Xander Zhou show at 2pm.

Taking our seat a few rows behind the gorgeous Oliver Cheshire (sans girlfriend, Pixie Lott) the show opened with blaring electro music, which kicked off proceedings nicely. A predominantly dark colour palette was used, with hints of glitter and sparkles in the form of blazers and oversized jackets, teamed with flashes of pop colour seen in trainers and accessories.

The collection had a futuristic/sports luxe vibe running throughout, from the oversized shapes teamed with fabrics like mesh making an appearance. Accessories like skateboards, luxurious gym bags and headbands kept the collection feeling relaxed and away from mainstream, which is what Zhou has become known for.
