We’re gutted that London Fashion Week is over for another season; SS15 was a pretty strong showing with the likes of Burberry, House of Holland and Mary Katrantzou all presenting stunning collections.

As the fash pack head to Milan for another week of spectacular shows, here’s our take on the final day of the catwalk offering here in London.

Anya Hindmarch: Last season she gave us bags emblazoned with Tony the Tiger and DAZ washing powder logos, which became cult classics for AW14, so what would be in store for us this season? Well another fun ride in effect! Quite literally as it turned out; models sat in giant neon teacups pushed along by skeletons, whilst others strutted down the runway complete with a trail of helium balloons. The overwhelming message was FUN, with a nice nod of back to school as the collection came complete with customisable stickers. Our fave? The ‘Bags Have Feelings Too’ sticker was super cute!

Who made the FROW?  Susie Bubble, Poppy Delevingne and er,  Richard E Grant!

Ashish: Sequins, sequins and er, more sequins! We’ve come to expect this signature from Ashish and once again he did not disappoint for SS15. Rainbow hues were used throughout, whether that was on ripped baggy jeans, on a cute checkerboard mini dress or a good old fashion snakeskin co-ord. Fabulous fun as usual, with the disco vibe being firmly set by Ashish for Spring.

Who made the FROW? Ella Eyre and Rapper Eve.

H by Hakaan Yildirim: Founded in 2011, with a name change and new aesthetic to boast this season, H by Hakaan Yildirim gave us a collection focusing on the relationship with humans and nature. Giant bee motifs adorned jumpers, stunning hexagonal pleated pieces and sheer panelled dresses stormed the runway; it was a departure from previous collections with this season promoting a ‘less is more’ approach.

Who made the FROW? Olivia Cox and Tanya Burr

Shopcade Does: Guirado Design x The Saatchi Gallery Magazine Party

on

Last Wednesday night we were lucky enough to go to the launch of the new Apocolypse Collection of the Guirado Design Autumn/Winter 2014 collection at the Cock N Bull Gallery, part of Mark Hix’s Tramshed restaurant, in Shoreditch.

Luxury accessories, art and interiors brand Guirado Design delivered their second collection of limited edition HD prints on fine fabrics featuring digital reinterpretations of the original artwork by visionary Spanish artist Juan Antonio Guirado.

Guirado’s ‘wearable’ designs

Hosted by his daughter, Catalina Guirado, Creative Director, and the driving force behind Guirado Design, she has reworked Guirado’s original artwork as limited edition HD textile prints on wool and silk, or cashmere and modal scarves creating ‘wearable art’.

For Autumn/Winter 2014 the Apocolypse collection features double skull prints against the decayed landscape of the original artwork reimagined in hues of gold on black and peacock blue on cocoa, and multi-skull reworks that create a kaleidoscope effect in African violet or vibrant red.

Absolut Expresso Martini’s & Peal Coolers

The intimate cocktail reception and showcase was hosted in association with Art & Music: The Saatchi Gallery Magazine and ABSOLUT who created delicious espresso martini’s and pear coolers.

There was also a more interactive experience with Pernod Absinthe bar serving ‘The Green Beast‘ and an Absinthe Fountain. Admittedly I am not usually a fan of Absinthe (aniseed and I are not the best of friends) but the host persuaded me to try the Absinthe Fountain in the cutest of glasses (see below) so I could’t refuse! In fact, the cocktail was intriguingly nice, I quite surprised myself.

Oliver Proudlock attended with tailor Joshua Kane. Joshua launches his debut ready to wear and accessories collection, Joshua Kane Bespoke, in March. Both Proudlock and Kane were dressed in polka dot-heavy tailoring from the label.

VV Brown, Nate James and Olivia Cox also attended the launch. The collection officially launches to press and buyers in February 2014 and is available at retail from August / September 2014.

Feeling peckish we ascended to upstairs for one of Tramshed’s renowned steaks. All in all, it was a delightfully elegant affair.
