So we had pastels, pale metallic and block colours sweeping the boards at Sunday night’s Oscars style awards, but what of the beauty looks? Who totally rocked it on the night, well check our hot list below…

Margot Robbie’s Gothic Delight: Wow. Margot looks a wee bit different with jet black locks and gothic make up, but you know what, it totes suits her! Seriously, we reckon she suits going over to the dark side, so here’s hoping she keeps it after she’s finished shooting whatever it is she is filming. No woman would go this drastic without a good reason!

Lupita’s Sweet as a Cherry: She’s the lady of the moment and looks sensational in pale blue. Cinderella, who exactly!? Along with the dreamy Prada number which has placed her on many a best dressed list (ours included) her gorgeous make-up deserves just as much praise. Understated eyes and a pop cherry lip make Lupita our new beauty, as well as style crush right now.

We don’t know about you, but it felt like a quiet one at The Oscars last night. Sure there was the usual mix of the super A-List, the kind of A-List, the high society lot and the people you just had no clue about, but there wasn’t any WOW fashion moments like we have had in previous years.

Everyone played it pretty darn safe, but that’s not to say that there weren’t some total style hits. Here’s out rundown of the winners in the style battle last night…

Lupita Nyong’o: She really gave new meaning to the term, ‘fairy tale princess’ on the red carpet last night. The pale blue Prada number (which had been made especially for her, no less) was just gorgeous; empire line, pleating, complete with delicate sparkles woven into the dress and topped off with minimal accessories. We’re talking just a cute sparkly headband and earrings here, which completed the look perfectly.

#NowPlaying at the Shopcade US Office This November

on

Here in the Shopcade US office there’s quite an eclectic mix of music taste between us. From indie rock to hip hop and everything in between there’s ALWAYS something playing on one of our Spotify playlists.

Now that it’s November, all ears are on songs that say goodbye to fall and hello to winter boot season. Not the OTK kind either. We’re talking about the rubber, ground gripping kind that beat the salt and sleet.
On the last few week before we’re totally bombarded with Christmas music – not that we mind – we’re all about getting down to the just-released jams from emerging artists, mainstream pop songs, and a few oldies-but-goodies while we work.

Check out the list (which we’ll be continuously adding to pre-Turkey Day) below. Let us know if we missed any of the new music you’re loving right now so we can tack it on.

3005 – Childish Gambino
Lose It – Little Jackie
Wonderwall –  Oasis
I’m Into You – Chet Faker
Changes – LOL Boys
Change Your Life – Iggy Azalea and T.I.

The Goss: Hollywood does Halloween!

Hollywood Does Halloween: Well they don’t do thing by halves those celebs do they? Hollywood went Halloween mad at the weekend, with a whole host of famous faces going all out to impress. Our fave? Has to be Paris Hilton (remember her?) who took inspiration from Shopcade and rocked THAT Miley twerking teddy costume we featured a few weeks ago. Hair in two high buns and heart shaped glitter glasses, Paris looked fab Other shout outs have to go out to the lovely Fergie AKA Mrs Josh Duhamel who rocked up at a party dressed as a skeleton and a frightening one at that. We heart.

Miss Dynamix get the X Factor boot: In perhaps the most tedious year ever, the best people seem to be leaving early if this week’s voting was anything to go by. Two of the hot faves in the bottom two? Say it ain’t so… Well, er it is because the fab fashion trio Miss Dynamix got the boot after they faced Hannah Barrett in the sing off. Cue lots of voting fix backlash… blah blah, bored now.

Lady Gaga performs on X Factor: The contestants may be causing us a snore fest, but the calibre of celeb performances so far have been brilliant. Ellie Goulding looking half naked in week one, Katy Perry rocking a tiger corset last week and well, last night, all hail the queen of quirk, Lady Gaga as she returned to the X Factor stage to sing her new single. Looking AMAZING in a flesh coloured bra (decorated with sea shells of course!) matching undies and a long blonde wig, her acoustic version of Venus went down a storm. And can we just say please, she is looking hot right now… no skin and bones, just a healthy looking lady. We like. A LOT.

Rihanna’s naked snake love for GQ: Oh good god. Just when you thought she could shock no more, Rihanna has gone and posed topless (nothing new there you might think) with a snake. Yep, a LIVE SNAKE. To celebrate GQ’s 25th anniversary Damien Hirst directed bad girl RiRi in the buff channeling Medusa… complete with snakes coming out of her head….Nice!
