We’re gutted that London Fashion Week is over for another season; SS15 was a pretty strong showing with the likes of Burberry, House of Holland and Mary Katrantzou all presenting stunning collections.

As the fash pack head to Milan for another week of spectacular shows, here’s our take on the final day of the catwalk offering here in London.

Anya Hindmarch: Last season she gave us bags emblazoned with Tony the Tiger and DAZ washing powder logos, which became cult classics for AW14, so what would be in store for us this season? Well another fun ride in effect! Quite literally as it turned out; models sat in giant neon teacups pushed along by skeletons, whilst others strutted down the runway complete with a trail of helium balloons. The overwhelming message was FUN, with a nice nod of back to school as the collection came complete with customisable stickers. Our fave? The ‘Bags Have Feelings Too’ sticker was super cute!

Who made the FROW?  Susie Bubble, Poppy Delevingne and er,  Richard E Grant!

Ashish: Sequins, sequins and er, more sequins! We’ve come to expect this signature from Ashish and once again he did not disappoint for SS15. Rainbow hues were used throughout, whether that was on ripped baggy jeans, on a cute checkerboard mini dress or a good old fashion snakeskin co-ord. Fabulous fun as usual, with the disco vibe being firmly set by Ashish for Spring.

Who made the FROW? Ella Eyre and Rapper Eve.

H by Hakaan Yildirim: Founded in 2011, with a name change and new aesthetic to boast this season, H by Hakaan Yildirim gave us a collection focusing on the relationship with humans and nature. Giant bee motifs adorned jumpers, stunning hexagonal pleated pieces and sheer panelled dresses stormed the runway; it was a departure from previous collections with this season promoting a ‘less is more’ approach.

Who made the FROW? Olivia Cox and Tanya Burr

Want to know how to throw the BEST #LFW event? Then you need to hit up our #ShopcadeLFW pop up and see how it’s done 😉 Today, after months of planning, we threw our doors open to the public and wow, what a reaction from you, our lovely users!

You came in your droves, posted tonnes of pics on our app, wrote on our wall guest book, and sampled sweet treats from the likes of Lola’s Cupcakes and Exquiste Sugar Tables.

We had a hoot on Day 1 with brands like Gemma Goldstone, High Spirit and Beauty Boulevard in attendance (Thanks for the purple lips FYI, guys!) and tomorrow will be just as awesome, with our LFW closing party, featuring a set from, wait for it… Rough Copy! *squeal!*

In all the excitement, we almost forgot the shows… ALMOST! Don’t worry, we still made time to head to Somerset House and present you with the highlights of Day 2, because A) we are clearly awesome at multitasking and B) We like you. So here you have it, Day 2’s highlights…

SIBLING: Big bows ruled supreme on the #LFW runway yesterday, alongside sequin dresses and fuzzy jumpers in a collection which was fun and retro- hello Desperately Seeking Susan. We loved how youthful and playful the range was; mini skirts and crop tops aplenty, but the prints also had a grown up edge to them as well.

Who made the FROW? Abbey Clancy & Daisy Lowe

House of Holland: If last season was all about ‘debauched debutantes; then this was the season of ‘plaster casters’ as hashtagged by all the celebs in attendance! A homage to the 70s, the collection focused heavily on embroidery and psychedelic prints giving a nod to the hippy era perfectly. The slogans were still there, although less obvious than last season and instead plastered on clutch bags emblazoned with the word ‘TRICKS’. Another triumph, Mr Holland.

Who made the FROW? Where do we begin?! Alexa Chung, Pixie Geldof, Rita Ora & Nicola Roberts for starters!

KTZ: A late night appointment with KTZ and well worth the wait! Beautifully structured pieces flowed down the catwalk in the main colour palette of black, white and gold. Eastern and Mediterranean influences played a big part in the collection; printed cameos and Chinese lantern hats gave the pieces real grown up and accomplished feel compared to previous seasons.

Who made the FROW?: Us! And erm… Paloma Faith, Zandra Rhodes

Stay tuned for more #ShopcadeLFW gossip from tomorrow’s day event and VIP party!

The countdown is officially on! And no, we don’t just mean to our AMAZING #shopcadelfw pop-up event and party, we mean to actual London Fashion Week!

New York Fashion Week is drawing to a close after an amazing few days of shows, with stand outs from Alexander Wang, Tommy Hilfiger (hello Kendall Jenner!) and J. Crew.

We’ve followed it closely, from all the top shows to the hottest street styles hitting the tent; we even caught Rihanna heading into Alexander Wang on Saturday!

So as the spotlight shifts to London, here’s our pick of the shows we just can’t wait to see this season!

1. House of Holland

Who? The King of Slogans

Why? The celeb packed FROW for one reason! Expect to see the Primrose Hill set out in full force, plus the two Lily’s (Allen and Collins) have been papped in rarely anything else for the past few months, so they are pretty much a shoo in for this season. Henry Holland’s AW14 collection was my favourite to date; an amazing collection of vibrant jewel colours, bold solgans and plenty of sequins to liven up the dull winter. Can he top this for SS15? Oh I’m sure he’ll give it his best!

Where? Saturday 13th September, 6.30pm

2. Topshop Unique

Who? Er, the most popular high street chain has a high end line… AS IF you didn’t know!

Why? Well if the ‘who’ section of this little preview doesn’t convince you, then last season’s wondrous oversized furs, stunning tailoring and downright gorgeous sixties mini dresses sure will! Topshop pretty much have the teen to early twenties market sewn up and this is just another string to their ever expanding bow. Always a celeb magnet, the FROW is bound to be bursting and we have a sneaky feeling a certain Kendall Jenner may well be walking this season too. Watch this space.

Where? Sunday 14th September, 3pm

If you’re heading out to London Fashion Week then every part of your outfit needs to be perfect. When you’re surrounded by fashionistas you know every last detail is going to count. That’s why nail art is so important!

Fear not, as we’re here to help you nail it during LFW, whether you’re in the FROW or mingling around between shows.

Here’s a few top tips on how you can get ridiculously good looking nails in the run up, during and after London Fashion Week

False Nails

We’ll get onto nail art techniques shortly, but if you want to get it done quick – we’d call this cheating but we’ll let you off, especially if you don’t have great nails to paint onto – then you can always go for false nails. Here at Shopcade we’ve got some great sets from Elegant Touch in conjunction with House of Holland, while Frou Frou is another great brand to consider if you’re looking for something a little different and playful – just remember your main outfit will need to be like this, too!

Sneak Peek: SS14 Fashion Trends

Psst. Want to know a secret? We know what everyone is going to be wearing next season and what’s more, we’re going to let you in on it. Welcome to the Shopcade Style Insiders guide to SS14…

blog.image-ss14.1-101213-ukCool As Candy: Pastels made a surprise appearance this autumn (sold out M&S pink coat anyone?!) so if you have invested this season, nicely done, as this will carry you into spring in style! The hot new colours to invest in are cool mint, baby blue and mellow yellow. Burberry Prorsum owned this look on the runway- alongside their hot monochrome and spots came pastel perfection teamed with delicate lace. LOVE.

blog.image-ss14.3-101213-ukCheck On It: Miranda Priestly once said ‘Florals in spring… ground breaking’ so maybe the designers took note and decided to give us a new print to rock for SS14. Checks edged ahead in the style stakes in all four cities, banishing florals into second place. House of Holland’s checkerboard of hot pink, white and blue was fun, yet wearable (think small checked trousers, full skirts and checked shirts) whilst Balmain and Sister By Sibling also deserve a mention for their dropped hem and dolly mixture shift dresses respectively.

blog.image-ss14.2-101213-ukDenim Delight: Banish all thoughts of ill-fitting jeans and dodgy patchwork, because denim just went luxe. Bleached, dark, light, you name it the designers showed it! Ashish gave us frayed, relaxed and slouchy denim on his runway, whilst Holly Fulton’s cut out denim t-shirt is going straight on our lust list. Fitted light denim from Christopher Kane’s resort collection was a winner, whilst Chloe’s denim smock dress will look fab teamed with chunky sandals and oversized sunglasses come summer.

These are our top picks, but what are yours? Share with us your 2014 trend predictions below!
