Leah McFall

We offish have a new girl crush and her name is Leah McFall! Looking awesome in her new vid for ‘Home’ with the equally stylish Will.i.am, we caught up with the gal who dressed her, our Designer Store favourite Nikita Karizma!

What kind of look was Leah after for her new video?

Leah’s stylist was looking for iridescent, pastel, fluffy, holographic pieces and loved our new KARIZMA collection!  He pulled in a lot of pieces for her music video shoot and performances in LA.

We were working on a custom long sleeved neoprene crop for her also, but we are so pleased she wore the baby pink fluffy heart top as it looked super cute on her in the holographic iridescent music video.

What do you love about Leah?

She is a phenomenal British talent, we loved to collaborate with her for such a special moment in her career and wish her all the best.

Love Leah’s look? Then you can get the EXACT piece on the Designer Store right here. Get it or regret it, it won’t be around for long!

How to Get the 80s Look

How To Get The 80s Look | Photo Credit: Tumblr | Pinterest

Remember when you thought Saved By The Bell was the coolest thing ever? The fashion, the hot guys, the fashion, the huge mobile phones, oh and did we mention, the fashion?! The 80s sitcom ran until the early 90s and along with tonnes of other cultural influences made 80s style what it was- iconic.

The 90s have been enjoying a revival recently, so we thought it was time to look back a decade earlier and show you how to get the 80s look. Think high waisted jeans, acid wash, bodycon, crop tops, logo t-shirts and shoulder pads (for the very daring amongst you) and you’ll be onto a winner. You ready? Then let’s begin…

80s Style Colour

Power dressing is about much more than what you’re wearing on its own; you need to be thinking about the colours and about how they work together, too. Powerful colours you should be considering are blues and reds – perfect statement colours that you can wear for any occasion.

Patterns were a big staple of the 80s, too. Think retro rather than going for modern patterns like floral and tribal prints; no one wore those in the 80s!

Speaking of casual outfits, you’re probably looking at urban fashion and style for inspiration when it comes to the 80s. Tracksuits, oversized denims and casuals, and big trainers were all the rage. Nike Blazers, anyone?

Lists We Love: Electric Embellishment

on

nataliecornerTrendsetter and Shopcade Curator, @NatalieCorner gives us an insight into her Electric Embellishment list and how she plans to work the look this season.

Over to you, Nat…

What I love about this trend is there are no rules. When it comes to embellishment; you can go big and glitzy or small and delicate.

Gone are the days when you reserved your best sequin top to go with your best skirt for your big night out. Nope, these days a sprinkle of those sequin charms goes fantastically with a soft knit to bring the tone down for work, or that perfect blazer to smarten you up but to keep you from bedazzling clients too much.

Add a smattering of beads for your day-to-day wardrobe, and that extra sparkle on your clothes will make you feel a million dollars inside. Ramp up the jewels on your big night and glisten like a Hollywood star on the red carpet, it’s all about how the glitz and glamour makes you feel.

When it came to making my Electric Embellishment list for Shopcade, I was inspired not just by the Christmas party season fast approaching but also the different ways in which I could inject a little glitter in to my normal wardrobe.

Embellishment 1

I’m not necessarily someone who likes to pile on the sequins head to toe but by pairing one embellished piece like this Cross Front Embellished Bralet from Topshop, with a different texture like these Velvet Suit Trousers from Mango and topping it off with these amazing Gold Leather High Heels from Office, would make me feel electric at a party!

Or for something a little more understated? These ASOS Slippers with a bejewelled heel would work perfectly with this cute Grey Jewel Flower Crop top from New Look a touch of structure with a Contrast Lapel Blazer from ASOS and a pair of jeans from my Denim Delight list.

The best thing about creating Shopcade lists, is that once you have all your lists you can mix and match trends to create a brand new one, or just become more individual and unique when you’re putting a look together.

And of course you have a record of everything you’ve ever wanted and you can keep coming back and adding more, there’s no limit – well maybe only my bank balance… 😉

Style File: Little Mix

on

It’s nearly two years since Little Mix lifted the X Factor crown (we know, where has the time gone?!) and the girls are back looking hotter than ever.

The cutest lot in the business, we loved their refreshing attitude to style- wearing WTF they liked with two fingers stuck up to the industry and any doubters- these ladies meant business and we had a lotta love for them.

‘Wings’ was all natural make up and cutesy denim, ‘How ya doin’?’ had us dip dying our hair and breaking out the ‘kapow’ t-shirts and spiky headbands, so how will new tune, ‘Move’ compare in the style stakes?

Well, on first glance we reckon it’s a fashion hit. Rocking monochrome, tartan checks, crop tops, jumpsuits, sharp tailoring, true blue and high collared shirts, this is the grown up Little Mix and we are loving it!

Like the Spice Girls (we know, retro right?!) All Saints (remember them?!) and Girls Aloud (the queens of pop) before them, each Little Mix-er has their own style. Let’s break it down…

Leigh-Anne: All about bodycon and big hair, Leigh-Anne loves to mix and match textures and is the queen of clashing prints. We don’t know many people who could make stripy leggings and purple leather work, but somehow she manages it!

Perrie: Known as the experimenter in our eyes, Perrie will give anything a go- two tones of pink hair on top of bleached blonde? That is BRAVE! We’re loving her relaxed tailored boy meets girl style here, with the fedora hat making a star turn. Get one quick!

Jesy: The urban queen, Jesy looks gorgeous in this vid, showing off her newly toned abs in tight fitting tees, customized denim cut offs and big Dr Martins. Gal got attitude and isn’t afraid to show it.

Jade: Cute as a button, don’t ya agree?! All about the braces, babydoll dresses and bowties in the beginning, Jade has gone all grown up on us here with high collars and 90s style jumpsuits. We heart.
