It’s called ‘Mad Monday’ for a reason on the LFW schedule and yesterday it more than lived up to its name! With power house Burberry the highlight on the show schedule, shows from GILES, Christopher Kane and Erdem still proved a huge hit with a slew of celebs in attendance.

Issa, Peter Pilotto and Michael Van Der Ham also get an honorable mention too for pulling out all the stops, but as the spotlight prepares to shift to Milan on Wednesday, here’s our London Fashion Week Day 4 highlights…

Burberry: AW14 was all about the blanket cape (now flooding the high street) so all eyes were on Burberry to see what would be the must- have for next season following this epic success. The answer? the humble denim jacket. Past reincarnations from Christopher Bailey have included the aviator, the trench and the biker jacket, so it was only a matter of time before the signature denim jacket got a makeover. Bailey’s version came in a deep indigo colour, complete with sheepskin trimmings edged on the collar and hem in various different cuts, to flatter and suit all figures. A triumph once more, this will be EVERYWHERE come Spring 2015.

Who made the FROW? Jamie Campbell- Bower, Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne & Paloma Faith (Walking- Suki Waterhouse and Jourdan Dunn)

Erdem: The collections are always so dreamy and fanciful, you expect to be taken into another world every season and once again he did not disappoint. Gothic sheer florals, pastels in lemon and lime and exotic prints, which left you with the feeling of being in the catwalk jungle; everything was impossibly beautiful and flawless; a symbol of runway life itself.

Who made the FROW? Alexa Chung, Pixie Geldof and Daisy Lowe

GILES: The backstage passes featured pictures of The Jungle Book, the invites came in the form of a foam claw and the music that played during the show? exotic birds! Welcome to the wild with GILES and his disco jungle; a fabulously loud and OTT celebration for Spring.

Who made the FROW? Daisy Lowe and Jaime Winstone

We’re halfway through London Fashion Week SS15 right now and with two days to go until the spotlight shift to Milan, how are we faring so far on Day three?

Well, pretty well if you consider the strong collections from the likes of Topshop Unique (THE hottest ticket in town) and Mary Katrantzou who showed yesterday, but more of that later, what really got the fashion world buzzing was our #ShopcadeLFW pop-up and VIP party!

HEBA and Dazzle & Jolt joined the event yesterday alongside our other fabulous brands for another day of music, makeovers and general fashion fun 😉

We then brought our #ShopcadeLFW pop up to a triumphant close with a VIP party, complete with candy floss, cupcakes and flutes of lambrini! We also had DJ sets from Cheyenne Davide, our very own Fabienne and the much anticipated set from the AMAZING Rough Copy.

Seriously, nothing could have prepared us for how incredible they would be! Choosing three tracks to get the party officially started, they brought the house down with their live performance, so a HUGE thank you to them for making our event so memorable; we are officially in love!

And with that, our #ShopcadeLFW adventure for this season is over, BUT with two more days to come of shows, we’ll be here bringing you the best bits. So without further ado here’s London Fashion Week Day 3…

Topshop Unique: Welcome back Cara Delevingne! Suspiciously absent so far for fashion month, this was her making a triumphant return to the runway opening and closing the show which EVERYONE was at! Joining her on the runway was Jourdan Dunn and Lily Donaldson in a collection which once again surpassed expectations. A sporty chic collection, combined with some beautifully beaded pieces summed up spring wonderfully.

Who made the FROW? Hailey Baldwin, Haylee Steinfeld, Anna Wintour & Alexa Chung

Mary Katrantzou: Oh my word; this collection was to die for! Geometric pieces, complex embroidery, beautiful spring floral patterns, intricate finishing touches and our personal fave, the appearance of a strange frog-person hybrid print! Mary cited that Pangaea, dance and flora and fauna were the inspiration behind this range; a natural progression from her previous collections and as visually strong as ever. Bravo!

Who made the FROW?

Matthew Williamson: Never one to disappoint, Matthew Williamson presented a collection for SS15 full of florals and 70s inspired prints and influences. Floaty maxi dresses, fluted hem skirts, summer accessories- this was a return to character for the brand; accessible pieces beautifully crafted. We can’t wait for summer!

Who made the FROW? Nicole Scherzinger, Poppy Delevingne & Olivia Palermo

Want to know how to throw the BEST #LFW event? Then you need to hit up our #ShopcadeLFW pop up and see how it’s done 😉 Today, after months of planning, we threw our doors open to the public and wow, what a reaction from you, our lovely users!

You came in your droves, posted tonnes of pics on our app, wrote on our wall guest book, and sampled sweet treats from the likes of Lola’s Cupcakes and Exquiste Sugar Tables.

We had a hoot on Day 1 with brands like Gemma Goldstone, High Spirit and Beauty Boulevard in attendance (Thanks for the purple lips FYI, guys!) and tomorrow will be just as awesome, with our LFW closing party, featuring a set from, wait for it… Rough Copy! *squeal!*

In all the excitement, we almost forgot the shows… ALMOST! Don’t worry, we still made time to head to Somerset House and present you with the highlights of Day 2, because A) we are clearly awesome at multitasking and B) We like you. So here you have it, Day 2’s highlights…

SIBLING: Big bows ruled supreme on the #LFW runway yesterday, alongside sequin dresses and fuzzy jumpers in a collection which was fun and retro- hello Desperately Seeking Susan. We loved how youthful and playful the range was; mini skirts and crop tops aplenty, but the prints also had a grown up edge to them as well.

Who made the FROW? Abbey Clancy & Daisy Lowe

House of Holland: If last season was all about ‘debauched debutantes; then this was the season of ‘plaster casters’ as hashtagged by all the celebs in attendance! A homage to the 70s, the collection focused heavily on embroidery and psychedelic prints giving a nod to the hippy era perfectly. The slogans were still there, although less obvious than last season and instead plastered on clutch bags emblazoned with the word ‘TRICKS’. Another triumph, Mr Holland.

Who made the FROW? Where do we begin?! Alexa Chung, Pixie Geldof, Rita Ora & Nicola Roberts for starters!

KTZ: A late night appointment with KTZ and well worth the wait! Beautifully structured pieces flowed down the catwalk in the main colour palette of black, white and gold. Eastern and Mediterranean influences played a big part in the collection; printed cameos and Chinese lantern hats gave the pieces real grown up and accomplished feel compared to previous seasons.

Who made the FROW?: Us! And erm… Paloma Faith, Zandra Rhodes

Stay tuned for more #ShopcadeLFW gossip from tomorrow’s day event and VIP party!

Never have we seen such inventive, cool and in some cases a bit freaky (but hey, we’ll forgive that!) nail art being posted on the app.

90s Style Icons: Who was your fave?

Oh the 90s. One big love affair with all things, er, cool. At least we thought it was cool, but then came the noughties and we went all futuristic and abandoned the naffness/so-bad-it’s-good-fashion of the 90s. Until now….

Yep, the fickle world of fashion has decided the 90s are now back ‘in’. We’re talking the works here- punk grunge, text on tees, over the knee socks, dungarees – the list goes on!

But what about the style icons who rocked them the first time round. Here’s our round up of the best 90s icons… who was your fave?!

The Spice Girls: My lovely colleagues will giggle at this one, knowing I am a huge fan, but even so these girls deserve the top spot on my list purely for all the trends they rocked without giving a hell. So, in no particular order…. Platform shoes/trainers/boots, babydoll dresses, tracksuits, halter necks, printed t-shirts, leopard print, hair glitter, bunches…. Yeah I could go on, and on AND on- OK I’ll stop… *sad face*

Cher from Clueless: To this day there has never been a film so quoted, so emulated, so LOVED. ‘As if’ and ‘Whatever’ became classic catchphrases overnight and Cher Horowitz became the girl we all wanted to be. A revolving wardrobe, a computer that picked out her outfits each day, shiny hair, the best BFFs like ever, oh and Paul Rudd as her stepbrother. Sigh.

Rita Ora | Instagram

Where would you find Kate Moss, Alexa Chung, Pixie Geldof and Rita Ora together at the same time? We’ll tell you where… at the style event of the season of course, the British Fashion Awards!

As anticipated Kate Moss was the woman of the hour, smooching Mr Harry Styles (nothing untoward, just a quick peck!) and posing up a storm with the gorgeous Rita Ora on the red carpet.

Mossy rocked a Grecian style leather mini dress, sky high heels and a white fur coat to wow the fashion crowd, whilst Rita (recently cast as Christian Grey’s sister in Fifty Shades!) went all Marilyn Monroe on us with quaffed peroxide hair and a corseted Vivienne Westwood number to wow the paps.

Vivienne Westwood | Burberry | Giles | Alexander McQueen

Designers create Christmas knits for charity: What do Alexander McQueen, Burberry and Vivienne Westwood have in common? Aside from the fact that they are all AMAZING British designers, they have also each designed a Christmas knit to be auctioned off for charity. In association with Save The Children’s Christmas Jumper Day, the full collection of knits will be on display in The Village at Westfield London from Thursday 28th November. Fancy getting your mitts on one of these knits? Well, in a unique twist it will be the lowest unique bid that wins the prize not the highest, so check out the full competition deets at here to bag yourself a quirky Christmas knit now.

Alexa Chung for Longchamp: Is there anything this woman can’t turn her hand to? TV presenter, writer, muse and model, now… the new face of Longchamp. Appearing in the SS14 & AW14 campaigns Alexa is all loose messy hair, endless legs and gorgeous leather bags. Sigh, some gals have all the luck!

We heart cat prints: oh Miley, how we love you and your quirky sense of style. Fresh from bleaching your eyebrows last week, your AMA performance at the weekend now has us championing cat prints galore. Maybe not in bikini form… we’ll leave that to the very brave, but who doesn’t fancy working a print that features a cute kitten or two?!

And finally….

blog.image-tights.bubble-271113-ukFashion Ed’s pick of the day: Do the Highland fling with this quirky pick of the day! Black tights are like so last season, right now we are all about colourful, patterned and playful winter woollies. These checked tights  will liven up any outfit and give a nod to Autumn’s tartan trend without being too overbearing.

The Goss: Katy Perry Announces ‘Prism’ UK Tour Dates!

on

blog.image-daily.gloss-katy.perry-181113-uk

Katy Perry announces UK ‘Prism’ Tour: This news has totally brightened up our Monday morning, we don’t know about you?! The lovely Katy Perry has just announced her UK tour dates for new album, Prism kicking off in May 2014! After the success of her California Dreams tour in 2011 we’re super excited to hear she will be back on the road and visiting her lovely fans. The show will kick off in Belfast on May 7th, ending in London’s O2 on the 30th. Tickets go on sale this Friday, so start planning your ticketing strategy now Katy obsessives!

Vivienne Westwood to write memoirs: OH MY GOD can you imagine how amazing this book will be? Due out next year, the grand dame of fashion herself will be spilling all in her official memoirs. We can’t wait, it’s seriously on our wish list already!

Miley Cyrus performs on X Factor: It was hyped to be one of The X Factor’s best guest star performances and what with all her recent drug EMA controversies, you would have thought Miley wouldn’t disappoint…. And yet, we were left pretty underwhelmed by the whole thing. The biggest shock? She actually covered up and wore a long metallic dress complete with brick lane turban (yep turbans are back in fash) to belt out her Number 1 single, Wrecking Ball.

Alexa Chung hearts hair chalk: The ever gorgeous Alexa Chung has given one of the hottest hair beauty trends her seal of approval by posting this pic on her Instagram page. Hair braids and hair chalk? Clearly this lady knows how to make a fash statement. We heart.

Meadham Kirchoff for Topshop: The wait is nearly over fashion fans, as Meadham Kirchoff’s fourth collection for the high street giant lands in store on November 21st. The capsule collection is themed around ‘cherrys’ and it’s clear the duo have had a hoot designing this one. What with Isabel Marant for H&M last week and this collab coming out Thursday, we’re being seriously spoilt by the high street at the mo. Who needs high end, eh?

And finally…

blog.image-daily.gloss-bubble-181113-ukShopcade hearts Joey Essex: Oh Joey how we love you and your pearly white knashers! We think he will be hilar on I’m A Celebrity if last night’s opening episode is anything to go by. The Only Way is Essex star was ripped for his brilliant pearly whites by his campmates as soon as he landed, but he may have the last laugh as we can see romance blossoming between him and Amy Willerton. Lotsa flirting going on last night on the ITV show as Amy attempted (she really tried, bless her) to teach Joey how to tell the time with a giant makeshift clock on the floor. Joey’s response? “It’s so much easier to look at your phone though, isn’t it?” Brilliant.
