New York Fashion Week is underway and although a lot of the trends for the upcoming seasons come from inside the shows, there is still much to be said of the recurring looks on the streets of NYC.
The black and white look is in, as if it were ever out. Many of our #streetstyle looks kept it simple with these two colors, a sure way to never go wrong. The line ‘everything looks better in black and white’ couldn’t be truer. If you are aiming for a chic and simple look try this color combination.
Another notable gem is the pattern and print trend seen throughout the city. If you want all looks in your direction, this is the way to do it. It’s almost impossible not to look at the girl wearing a dress with eyes. Floral patterns are also a very popular look and aim to keep the feel of spring alive. These funky patterns are a definite growing trend.
Denim/Denim = a great trend. The look of denim on top of denim is here to stay and what a simple trend it is. Throw a denim button up over a pair of Levi’s and you’re ready to go, a la Olivia Palermo, spotted rocking this trend @ NYFW.
Another fav trend that can be carried from season to season is the sleeveless blazer. The special look allows for sophistication with a side of edge. These items can be worn alone as a dress or as a cover up to your outfit. A sleeveless blazer can be worn with pretty much any style and transition from a summer item to fall by just adding a few layers underneath. This look is perfect for taking a look from day to night. A definite must have!
