When it comes to interviewing stylish Parisian guys, we say YES without any hesitation! Matthias Cornilleau runs Stylnoxe, an uber cool blog about men’s fashion and travelling. We grilled him on how men shop these days and why he hates running shoes with a passion!
Hi Matthias! We love your blog. What’s the concept behind it? And the blog’s name is quite unusual, how did you come up with it?
My blog’s name is a mix of the word “style” and the name of a medicine. In fact, I think fashion is like a medicine – when you feel comfortable and happy in your clothes, you feel comfortable and happy in your skin. That’s why I wear different types of clothes: casual, classic, grunge – every day I select a different outfit which corresponds to my mood.
You also run your own e-shop. What kind of items can we find there?
It’s not really an e-shop, it is an area where I sell all the clothes that I cannot keep at home, as I have so many things compared to the size of my flat!
Travelling seems to be an important part of your blogging life. What’s the best place you have visited so far?
I’ve got lovely memories from my road trip in Croatia and Vietnam. I plan to go to Asia again soon!
What kind of travel tips would you like to give to the guys out there?
Be open-minded and adventurous.
What’s the funniest / weirdest email or comment you have received from a fan?
Haha, I have not really kept them… but most of the time they are cool!
Time to talk to about fashion! What’s the one thing that you wouldn’t want to be seen wearing?
What kind of combinations make you cringe when you see them?
I would have to say running shoes with suits.
Guys and shopping seem to be a little contradictory. What about you? Do you enjoy going to the stores?
In my opinion, it used to be contradictory, but nowadays it appears that some men are even more careful about their appearance than some girls!
If you could press a button and control everyone’s taste, what would you make people wear?
I could never press it – I prefer seeing diversity, even if that means encountering some weird outfits out there, than having a “monostyle” world.
What’s the one thing that you are waiting patiently from a fashion designer to come up with?
I like being surprised and they always do it.
Finally, aliens invade the planet and you need to convince them to spare your blog. What do you say to them?
“Hey guys! What do think about taking some pics together?”
