Get Summer ready with Barry M’s latest TV Advert and make-up ambassador Adam Burrell. The eyes and lips are the focal point to this gorgeous look, so make sure your base is kept minimal to help pull this off.

Electric eyes are so hot for SS14 so begin with creating a blue eye flick using Gel Waterproof Eyeliner in Blue. Top Tip from Adam “I always find it best to do this when your eyes are open so you can see exactly how it’s going to look”.

Take your time with this, as the saying goes; “Never ask a girl with winged eyeliner why she is late” and this most definitely applies here. When you are happy with the shape of your flick then follow the line across your eyelid and bottom line before layering with Lash Vegas.

It is Summer after all, so add a bit of warmth to your skin with natural dazzle bronzer on the whole face, not forgetting to blend with your neck; nobody wants an obvious make-up line! On the cheeks, add a cheeky flush using Blusher in peaches & cream, which is subtle but effective.

Orange and blue clash beautifully together, so to finish off the look with that striking orange lip using Loud Mouth in Screamer. It works with the same texture as a lip gloss but with the extreme colour you would expect from a lipstick. Sorted!

There’s still time to enter our amazing Barry M competition! Simply take our quiz, enter your details and boom! You could be walking away with a year’s supply of Barry M Cosmetics. Not too shabby, huh?!

Ariana Grande is the our ultimate girl crush right now. From her perfectly styled hair to her gorgeous make-up; a flawless base with a sun kissed glow is what holds this great make up look together.

With a shimmery base for the eye and not forgetting Ariana’s trademark cats eye flick and heavy mascara, the eyes are done. The hot pink lip is what helps this look stand out, using the amazing new Genie Lip Paint by Barry M!

On a first glance you see a green lip paint and think the worst, but don’t worry we aren’t trying to get you to join some crazy new make-up cult, the genie lipstick turns pink the instant it touches your lips.

Everyone will get a unique shade of pink as it adapts to the alkaline levels in your lip. For that matte look wear on it’s on or top off with some clear lip gloss for that shiny glaze.

For our June Style Battle™, we’ve taken Style Council members on Shopcade dates to find out more about them, their style and what fashion advice they can share!

For this date we took Rachel Holland, our June stylist for the winner’s shoot, and Alice Luker, fashion photographer, to My Old Dutch, London’s infamous pancake house where we stuffed ourselves with savoury and sweet ones topped off with a Ferrero Rocher milkshake…delicious!

And now, to business…

Rachel Holland

1. How would you describe your style?

Heavily influenced by the 1960s and 1970s, often minimal, inspired by travelling and with a bit of rock ‘n’ roll thrown in.

2. What’s your favourite item in your wardrobe that you can’t live without?

My jewellery. I’ve been collecting unusual pieces for years.

3. What are your have trends this Summer?

I love the denim on denim trend, it’s so wearable and easy to pull off. Also carrying a leather rucksack instead of a handbag, it looks really modern and much more relaxed than a formal bag.

4. What are your fave three brands?

Acne, Margiela, Givenchy

5. Give us one piece of fashion advice…

Dress yourself in an organic, natural way and be true to yourself. Find your own individual style and your own way of dressing that feels good. Expressing who you are on the inside and reflecting it onto the outside beats mindlessly following the trends; That’s how most fashion editors dress – they find what works for them and they stick to it, almost like a uniform. You can then have fun switching up your look with accessories, jackets and shoes for each new season.

How To Dress Like Kim Kardashian

on

Kim Kardashian

How can we describe Kim Kardashian without using to the nickname ‘Kimye’ or mentioning her famous derriere? Hmmm…unique is probably the most accurate description, but perhaps that doesn’t go far enough in describing her iconic look.

We’re not going to delve into it too much further; we’re just going to tell you how to get the Kim Kardashian look for yourself.

Kim Inspired Dresses

Dresses are Kim all over and they’re definitely something you’ll need to be getting into your wardrobe. There are so many different styles that she’s been pictured in that it is impossible to pick out just one (we’ve gone for three, you can go for however many you like!) so just remember to glam up and you’ll be fine.

  • The first Kim inspired dress we’d wear is a sequinned mini dress. Kim wears it in blue, but it’s totally up to you what you want to go for. Sequins are highly fashionable and are great both for showing off or understating your look, depending on what colours you go for.

  • An off the shoulder skater dress is our second essential selection and is perfect for wearing either to casual or formal occasions, and even on the beach, too!

  • The most iconic Kim Kardashian dress is probably the long sleeved “bodycon” dress that uses great fabrics and panel detail to give you a look to die for.

How To Dress Like Vanessa Hudgens

While Vanessa Hudgens will always be famous for being one of the leading stars of the High School Musical franchise, she has done enough since that time – embarrassing online episodes aside – to be recognised as one of the hottest young stars around.

Not only does her career continue to grow but she hasn’t fallen into the typecast “princess” role that many thought she might have done after HSM. The transition from child star to adult leading lady is always easier when you don’t have to reinvent yourself!

One area where Vanessa certainly doesn’t need any help with reinventing is her style. Learning how to dress like Vanessa Hudgens is kind of like an art form- seriously, she’s either super over accessorized or very laid back with her dress sense!

Here’s how you can get the look for yourself…

Casual Clash

Vanessa is the master of taking a casual look and making it look super cool with accessories aplenty. This quality shouldn’t be understated; it means you can wear whatever you want and get away with it, on any occasion, because you’re always dressing outfits up rather than dressing yourself down.

How to do Country Chic… Shopcade Style! | Photo Credit: Tumblr

Whether you’re actually heading to the country for the weekend or just want to give embrace this season’s ‘prairie girl’ look, then sit up and pay attention, because this post is all about How To Do Country Chic in style!

Get Skirted

The maxi skirt is essential to working this look correctly- in winter its all about heavy tweed and luxurious colours, but in summer the colour palette completely shifts to nudes, whites and pastels.

Work the cool crochet style into your look as well, or go for light checks if you want to liven up your lower half this season- simply team with some boho fringing on top and you’re good to go.

Shirts & Jumpers

For shirts and jumpers it’s all about keeping it simple. You’ve gone for checks on your lower half which means plain is where you need to be up top. That said, if you’re going to pair your shirt with a jumper there’s nothing to stop you having a patterned one if you just have the collar on show.

Ideally, you want to go for a colour that contrasts against your jumper, which should always be a cable knit for this look. A lighter jumper will give a great contrast against your skirt, but going dark and dark can create an elegant top to bottom look.

London Collections: Men SS15 happened earlier this week and Shopcade hit the Bloomsbury area of London to see what was going to be hot next year in Menswear!

Joseph Turvey

Renowned for using feminine fabrics to create upmarket sportswear, this season he has continued his experimentation of different fabrics and techniques, continuing to bring luxury to streetwear.  He hand painted silk and brushed cottons and created extra textural depth by quilting a fabric or adding huge sequin roundels or using feminine, iridescent fabrics to juxtapose masculine streetwear.

Each model was painted with Japanese letters and imagery – a particular inspiration this season was Koi Karp – Joseph used hand drawn techniques to incorporate into his signature illustrations found on his silk ensembles.

Next Spring/Summer in the eyes of Joseph Turvey is bright, colourful and sophisticated, yet easy wearing.
